We are excited to announce the hiring of two new full-time staff members at the YMCA of Auburn Lewiston: Kristi Parker and Peter Goulet.
Kristi Parker, whose first day will be April 6, joins our team as the new Director of Health and Wellness. Kristi brings a powerful combination of education, hands-on experience, and a deep passion for helping individuals lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. She holds a Master’s Degree in Health and Nutrition Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, and has spent nearly two decades supporting people in their wellness journeys.
Kristi’s professional background includes extensive work as a personal trainer, nutritionist, and wellness coach. Most recently, she worked at Dirigo Fitness and Precision Nutrition Fitness, where she developed customized nutrition plans, led group and one on one fitness training, and guided clients through long term behavior change. In her role at the YMCA, Kristi will oversee all aspects of health and wellness programming, including group fitness, personal training, community health initiatives, and overall member wellness experiences.
We are also pleased to welcome Peter Goulet as our newly onboarded Membership Services Manager. A graduate of Edward Little High School, Peter holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, along with Education Master’s Degrees in both School Counseling and Urban Education Administration. He has a long-standing connection to the YMCA of Auburn Lewiston, swimming for the Y’s Twin City Swim Team while also competing for ELHS and the University of Maine.
Peter brings a strong background in leadership and coaching, having served as an Assistant Coach at Orono High School and as Head Coach at Thornton Academy. While living in Massachusetts, he continued coaching at Revere High School and Sharon High School. Since October 2025, Peter has served as Head Coach for our competitive swim team and will remain the Head Coach as part of his new role. Under his leadership this past season, the team saw 63 of 94 swimmers achieve new personal bests, a 67% overall improvement rate. With his experience and positive energy, Peter is sure to make a meaningful impact at the front desk and beyond.
Please join us in welcoming Kristi and Peter as full-time staff members! We are confident that both will play an important role in advancing the YMCA’s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. If you see them around the Y, be sure to say hello and welcome them to our community!
