Y Summer Camp is the YMCA’s co-ed day camp (ages 7-13) located at the Y’s 93-acre Outdoor Learning and Education Center (OLEC) on Stetson Rd. in Auburn, ME. OLEC boasts a large playing field, wooded areas, a brook, and more to provide memories and powerful reminders of the emotional, physical, and spiritual benefits that come from interacting with nature.
The Y Kid’s Camp (ages 5-8) is based at the Y at Turner Street in Auburn and incorporates trips to OLEC. This camp is for younger children or those 7 and 8 year old children that are not ready for a full day of the traditional outdoor day camp.
*Children ages 5 and 6 may only register for Y Kid’s Camp
Have you ever seen the look on a child’s face when they hold a bullfrog for the first time? It’s a kaleidoscope of emotions: trepidation, curiosity, wonder, joy. It is a powerful reminder of the emotional, physical, and spiritual benefits that come from interacting with nature.
The YMCA’s Outdoor Education & Learning Center (OLEC) is bringing those benefits to children and adults of all ages in the greater Androscoggin County area. Located on 93 wooded acres along Stetson and River roads in Auburn, OLEC is
a multi-purpose outdoor center tailored for kids and families.
Whether you’re choosing the Y Summer Camp at OLEC or the Y Kid’s Camp, we strive to create a fun, safe, nurturing environment for all. Themed weeks, field trips, indoor & outdoor play, guest speakers, summer learning loss prevention, arts & crafts, music and more are all on the horizon for this year’s Summer Camp experience.
WHY THE Y? Because we’re changing lives for the better! Deeply rooted in community, the YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is made up of people of all ages, faiths, and abilities, all working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, race, income, or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest. When you’re involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting personal and social change that will positively impact you, your family, and your community. We provide opportunities to nurture every youth and teen and believe all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through the Y, millions of youth are cultivating values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, and educational achievement.
This program is for children entering Grades 1-8 in the fall of 2022.
The Membership For All Program provides financial assistance to individuals who do not have the resources to pay the full cost of membership or programs. The resource is confidential and is funded through our Annual Campaign.

A quintessential Maine day camp, boasting a large playing field, swimming pool, basketball court, Gaga, wooded areas, nature trails, a brook and more. The Y Kid’s Camp is based at the 62 Turner Street location and encompasses many of the same aspects of the camp at OLEC, but is geared towards younger children.
Y Summer Camp at OLEC’s Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program provides leadership training for teens. In effect, CIT’s stand on a bridge between camper and staff. CIT’s gain valuable counseling skills needed to ensure a smooth transition to future staff positions. Successful completion of this program may lead to a Counselor position the following year.
At both the Y’s Summer Camps, character-building is part of all activities, which include teambuilding, cooperative games, outdoor sports, and traditional camp activities like arts n’ crafts, aquatics, environmental education, and archery.
