The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is a character-building organization dedicated to strengthening the principles of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through programs that will build a healthy mind, body, and spirit for all.
Our YMCA was incorporated as a charitable organization on February 17, 1868. Since that time, the Y has been dedicated to improving the lives of others. What began as a residence for young men working in local mills and factories has evolved to include a variety of cause-driven services focused on our mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
From those humble beginnings, the YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston has grown to over 4,000 members from across Androscoggin and Oxford counties. Each year, we give back to our community with over $200,000 in financial assistance, ensuring cost is never a barrier to participation. We are proud to be known as a safe place for all people, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, faith, or economic status.

The auburn Lewiston YMCA offers a stimulating environment that allows children to develop imagination and share positive social experiences with peers and adults. Our thoughtfully designed activities and play centers encourage children to explore and discover the world around them. Through this process children develop a skill set in all areas of development. We use a unique curriculum as a framework for authentic assessment. We plan play based activities and develop individual goals for children to ensure that all children have meaningful opportunities for learning.
