Fitness Center Coordinator

Purpose:
The Fitness Center Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a functioning and well staffed volunteer schedule. The Fitness Center Coordinator also participates as a specialist in the state run ME FIRST program. He/she helps maintain a clean and safe facility by keeping the fitness center equipment clean, organized, and functioning by working with the fitness director, fitness specialists and volunteers. The Fitness Center Coordinator must adhere to all rules and regulations and uphold the standards expected by the YMCA Organization.

Facilities Associate

This position assists the Facilities Director to provide a safe environment through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities. General maintenance, bus driving and custodial duties necessary to support quality programs and special events help to describe the position. 40 hours per week, typically 7am-4pm M-F. Clean driving record. Experience in related field preferred. On going training provided.

Points of emphasis include:
• Understanding of the YMCA mission and role as a community-oriented organization
• Ability to establish good customer service/relations with members of the Y and the community as an “Ambassador”
• Clean driving record with Class B license with passenger endorsement
• Ability to work with tools and repair equipment properly
• Motivated to maintain clean, safe environment
• Occasional evening & weekend availability required

Camp Connor - Camp Counselor

General function: Camp counselors will be responsible on a weekly basis to either: 1. Provide group leadership & supervision, and transition campers from period to period; 2. Plan, coordinate, and implement scheduled activities. Staff must attend all staff functions, meetings, and trainings to include Child Abuse Prevention Workshop. This position involves demanding hands-on work experience with children ages 5-16. Camp Connor is a day camp operating Monday-Friday from June 18th to August 17th, 2012. Counselors typically work 8:15am-4:25pm, although some can work as early as 7am and as late as 5:30pm.

Site Coordinator at Geiger
Positions begins August 29th. 
Part-Time 35 hours a week including: 6:00-9:00am at the Y, 2:30-6:00pm at Geiger School, Wednesdays 12:00-2:30 at the Y, and Planning Time.

Life Guard

Job Requirements
Must possess mature judgment and sound decision-making. Ability to relate to people in a positive, but firm manner. Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency. Ability to effectively communicate information on aquatics programs to members and participants.

Education Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent w/a current: LG Certification, CPR-FPR, and State Approved First Aid Certification. Swim lesson experience preferred. *Training/Certification available, please inquire FMI.
